Refund Policy

How returns, refunds, warranty and core charges work.

This policy covers parts you buy from route20powersports.com. Route 20 Powersports LLC, 43661 Oberlin Elyria Rd, Oberlin, OH 44074.

Returns

  • You can return unused, uninstalled items in their original, undamaged packaging within 30 days of delivery.
  • Contact us first for a Return Authorization (RA). We can't accept returns sent without one.
  • A 15% restocking fee applies to returns of items that aren't defective.
  • You pay return postage, except when we made the mistake (we sent the wrong item, or it arrived damaged or defective). Then we pay it, and we refund your original shipping too.
  • Original shipping costs are not refunded on other returns.
  • If the fit we listed for your vehicle was wrong, we waive the restocking fee.

Items that can't be returned

  • Special-order parts, including OEM parts and items our distributors don't normally stock.
  • Electrical parts, including stators, CDIs, ECUs, regulators, sensors, wiring and lighting modules.
  • Parts that are installed, used, modified or painted.
  • Hazmat items and opened fluids.

Defective items are still covered by the warranty section below.

Damaged, missing or wrong items

Report them within 5 days of delivery. Email photos of the part and the box to admin@route20powersports.com or call 440-774-1101. Keep the packaging. Please don't send anything back until we give you instructions.

How refunds are paid

  • Credit or debit card: within one billing cycle after we approve the return, or after we cancel an order we can't ship.
  • Other payment methods: within 7 working days.

Cancelling before it ships

You can cancel a parts order for a full refund any time before it ships. After it ships, the return rules above apply.

Orders we can't ship

If we can't ship by the date we gave you, we tell you before that date. You can agree to a new date or cancel for a full refund. If we state no date, we ship within 30 days of your order.

Warranty

New parts carry the maker's warranty only. Coverage and length vary by brand, and we help you file a claim. Warranties cover manufacturing defects. They don't cover wear, misuse, racing, bad installation, crash damage or changes to the part. The maker or distributor may need to inspect the part, and they decide whether to repair, replace or refund it. Labor to remove or reinstall a part isn't covered unless we installed it.

Labor done by Route 20 is guaranteed for 90 days. If our workmanship fails in that time, we redo the work at no labor charge. Parts we install carry the maker's warranty.

Apart from the maker's warranty and our labor guarantee, we make no other express warranties. Any implied warranties last only as long as the law requires.

Core charges

Some parts, like lead-acid batteries, starters and rebuildable parts, include a refundable core charge. The amount is shown at checkout. To get it back, return the old part within 30 days. It should be drained, undamaged and the same type as the part you bought. We accept used lead-acid batteries for recycling. Cores that come back damaged, incomplete or late may not be refunded.

Electric bikes

Sur-Ron and other electric bikes are sold by inquiry only. Call Ethan at 440-541-4331.

  • Your receipt. When you pay a deposit (the usual deposit is $500) or the full price, we give you a dated written receipt. It lists the bike (make, model, model year and color), the cash selling price, the amount paid, any trade-in allowance or discount, how long we hold the bike for you, any extra cost such as storage, assembly or delivery, and whether the payment is refundable and when.
  • Refundable until the bike ships to us. You can cancel for a full refund any time until the bike ships to us from the supplier. We tell you when we place the order and when it ships.
  • Not refundable after it ships to Route 20. Once the bike has shipped to us, the deposit or payment is not refundable. We must then stock the bike or send it back at our own cost.
  • If we are late or the price goes up. If we can't deliver within 30 days of the date we quoted, or the price goes up after you order, you can cancel for a full refund.
  • Refund timing. Within 7 working days, or within one billing cycle for card payments.

Your rights under Ohio law

We follow Ohio and federal consumer law. Under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act, a seller may not use unfair or deceptive practices (Ohio Revised Code 1345.02). Ohio Administrative Code 109:4-3-09 limits how long a seller may hold your money for an order it hasn't shipped, and the FTC rule at 16 CFR 435.2 sets a 30-day default ship time. Ohio law can also give you implied warranties on goods (R.C. 1302.27 and 1302.28). If you find a problem, tell the seller within a reasonable time (R.C. 1302.65). Ohio does not set a required return period for in-stock items. Our 30-day window and 15% restocking fee are store policy.

This is store policy, not legal advice. Nothing here takes away rights you have under Ohio or federal law.
